TKO VOLUNTEER AREA DESCRIPTIONS

  1. Volunteer Support Team: Needs volunteers to assist incoming volunteers with check-in and guidance to their area on the day of the event. A map of the venue/booth locations and check-in process steps will be provided.  Mostly low-activity positions for this team with shift times and availability may vary.
  2. Ticket Sales Team: Needs volunteers to collect admission from adults and children at the front gate. Also needs volunteers to assist guests with the sale of food and beverage tickets inside the event.  The use of a mobile phone with a headphone jack will be required for both of these positions.  We will be using Square technology, so it would be helpful if volunteers were familiar with Square, but training will be provided.
  3. *Food Team: Volunteers are needed Saturday morning to grill bratwursts and hot dogs and pre-warm some of the sauerkraut. We will also need volunteers to prep and warm pretzels.  During the event, volunteers are needed to serve food to customers.  Volunteer runners will also be needed to keep the flow of bratwurst, hotdogs, sauerkraut, and pretzels from the preparation area to the selling booth.  Also, volunteers will be needed to walk around the event with pretzel trees selling pretzels.
  4. Beverage Team: Volunteers are needed to assist in the serving of soda, water, and beer. Beer servers must be over the age of 21 and be TABC certified.  TABC Certification course, about a 2 hr. online course, must be completed and a printout of your certificate must be provided to the team leader before the day of the event.  See this link for low-cost classes:  www.tabcpermit.com.  Shift times/availability may vary.  There are a limited number of spots available for beer service.  Please contact Steve Bost for details on certification.  Volunteers needed – beer service – 12.  Water/Soda Booth team – Volunteers needed to accept tickets for payment of water and a variety of sodas.

  10. Decoration Team: Help with decorating the venue including table decorations, signage, and banners as well as securing decorations in the balcony for storage at the end of the event. We could use at least one volunteer willing to climb up a ladder to tie banner ropes to tent posts.
